I feel like I've never been stumped so bad when it came to a project idea. I finally endd up with shadows as my subject. I've started playing with the shadows, and what kind of shapes I can get. Scott told me the best way to go about all of this is to just take a ridiculous mount of photos and then find links between them. I also started thinking about using the shadows cast off of bottles of alcohol to allude to alcoholism, but I need to figure out exactly what items/surfaces the shadows will be cast over to create this link.
Try thinking about specific objects. You talked about the alcohol bottle(be wary, this could end up looking like an AA or MADD ad), think of other objects that have symbolic importance. Is it important that the object is visible? How does the shadow interact with the 2-d or 3-d plane? For example, the third image shows a dark strip bisecting the visual surface. Could you possibly use objects that would create multiple image readings, like the image of two faces in profile that can also be seen as a vase. What happened to the multiple sources of lights creating several shadows from one object? Just some things to think about.
